Fan Bingbing debt dispute

Overview

Actress Fan Bingbing and her brother, Fan Chengcheng, are facing public demands for the repayment of a 67 million NDT debt. The dispute involves Dongyang Hailuo Entertainment, which seeks recovery of investments and profits related to the 2017 television series ‘Ba Qing Chuan’ (also referred to as ‘Thang Thien Ha’ or ‘Ying Tian Xia’). The project has remained unreleased following Fan’s 2018 tax evasion scandal.

While a Beijing court ordered Fan’s company, Wuxi Aimeishen Film and Television Culture Co., Ltd., to return the funds in 2021, the creditor claims the debt remains unpaid after five years of enforcement. The creditor has alleged that the company utilized a ‘shell game’ tactic to avoid repayment by declaring bankruptcy and transferring shares.

Further allegations suggest that between 2018 and 2020, over 200 million NDT was transferred to other studios linked to Fan and her brother. In response to these claims, Fan Bingbing’s legal representatives stated that corporate and individual responsibilities must be decided through legal proceedings and cautioned against the spread of false information.
