FARC dissident activity in Colombia

Overview

Colombian authorities captured Eliseo Ninco Páez, alias ‘Cheo’, in Neiva, Huila. Ninco Páez is identified as a logistics leader for the Iván Díaz front of the Jorge Suárez Briceño block of FARC dissidents.

He is accused of several crimes, including simple kidnapping, qualified and aggravated theft, and the illegal trafficking and possession of firearms and ammunition. Investigators allege he provided strategic weaponry and financial support to the armed group, while also coordinating extortion schemes against local merchants through the use of explosive devices. Following his arrest, the suspect was placed at the disposal of the Attorney General's Office.
