Farsala infrastructure recovery and repair

Overview

The Municipality of Farsala has initiated several infrastructure projects aimed at repairing damage caused by Storm Daniel in September 2023 and improving local access.

Initial efforts included a 1.5 million euro plan consisting of two major projects: a 1 million euro initiative for agricultural road construction in Dilofos to support heavy machinery traffic, and a 500,000 euro project in Polydamanta to connect livestock units to road networks following erosion and drainage issues.

Subsequently, the municipality secured an additional 500,000 euros through the Special Program for Addressing and Recovering from Natural Disasters 2026-2030. This funding is designated for urban infrastructure repairs in Farsala, including the restoration of asphalt, the installation of new stormwater pipes, and the rebuilding of drainage systems. These works are scheduled to run from January 1, 2027, through March 30, 2028. Mayor Makis Eskiloglou noted that the administration is prioritizing interventions based on technical assessments to ensure safer movement for citizens.
