Fatal armed conflict in Diyarbakır
Overview
On August 19, a fatal armed conflict occurred at a business on the old Mardin road in the Sur district of Diyarbakır. The incident, reportedly triggered by a dispute over debts, escalated from a verbal argument into a shooting.
Two individuals, identified as A. Ç. and Ş. B., died as a result of the altercation. Six other people were wounded and transported to Dicle University Hospital and Gazi Yaşargil Training and Research Hospital. Following an operation by the Diyarbakır Police Department, eight suspects were detained. Five individuals—C. Ç., H. Ç., B. Ç., K. Ç. (a minor), and Ö. B.—were arrested and sent to prison, while three others were released under judicial control.
