Fatal assault in Garut, Indonesia

Overview

In Garut, West Java, a 28-year-old man identified as AS was arrested for the fatal beating of 74-year-old Eman Sutaryat in Cisompet. The victim was reportedly collecting scrap metal when the assault occurred.

Garut Police Chief AKBP Niko Nurallah Adi Putra stated the motive was resentment after the victim reprimanded the suspect for consuming alcohol in public. At the time of the incident, the suspect was reportedly under the influence of alcohol and 25 illegal pills. The suspect allegedly struck the victim twice in the head with a 25-kilogram river stone, resulting in fatal skull fractures.

The investigation expanded to include local drug distribution, leading to the arrest of a woman identified as JH. Authorities seized 8 grams of methamphetamine and 3,900 illegal pills from her possession. Police confirmed the suspect does not suffer from mental health disorders.
