Fatal traffic accidents in Japan and South Korea
Overview
A series of fatal and serious traffic accidents has been reported across Japan and South Korea.
In Japan, fatalities occurred in several regions: a woman died in Niigata after striking a ditch and structures; a 71-year-old man died in Hiroshima following a collision between two light vehicles; and a 40-year-old man died in Hokkaido after an off-road vehicle plunged 100 meters into a valley. In Kumamoto, a 24-year-old Vietnamese national died after being struck by a car while exiting a rolled vehicle. Other incidents included a 62-year-old woman dying in Ehime after hitting a cyclist and a wall, a teenager in critical condition in Okayama, and a man found dead in a waterway in Fukuoka.
In South Korea, a 20-year-old woman died in Suwon when her SUV, driven without a license, crashed through a fence and fell 12 meters from a supermarket rooftop parking lot. Additionally, an 86-year-old man was found dead in a forest in Akita after going missing in a light truck.
