FC Nantes summer transfer window activity

FC Nantes has engaged in several roster changes during the summer transfer window, involving both departures and new acquisitions.

The club announced the departure of Egyptian striker Mostafa Mohamed to the Turkish side Konyaspor for approximately one million euros. This move follows a period of tension between the player and the club, during which Mohamed was fined and sidelined after refusing to participate in club events. The transfer results in a five million euro net loss for Nantes compared to his 2022 acquisition cost.

To strengthen the squad, Nantes has secured the permanent signing of midfielder Ryad Hachem from Red Star on a three-year contract.

Under new manager Grégory Poirier, who succeeds the dismissed Michel Der Zakarian, the club is undergoing a significant restructuring. This overhaul includes the acquisition of midfielder Balthazar Pierret from Red Star FC for approximately €1 million on a three-season contract. Pierret brings previous experience from Serie A with Lecce.

Nantes’ recruitment efforts appear to favor players familiar to Poirier from his tenure at Red Star, though some attempts have been unsuccessful. The club made a €1 million offer for USL Dunkerque striker Thomas Robinet that was rejected, and a potential move for defender Dylan Durivaux from Red Star is considered unlikely to proceed.
