Ferris wheel incident at Torreón Fair
Overview
In the early hours of October 1, a minor became suspended from a Ferris wheel at the Feria de Torreón in Coahuila, Mexico. The incident occurred after the child entered a restricted area and became attached to the exterior of a passenger basket as the ride was in motion.
Operators from Espectaculares García activated emergency protocols and halted the ride to prevent the child from being lifted higher. Authorities from Protección Civil reported that no technical failures were detected in the machinery, attributing the event to the minor entering an unauthorized zone. The child was brought to safety without injury.
Subsequent reports clarified that while the child's mother was inside the attraction with other family members, the boy accessed the rear of the structure and clung to a moving cabin. The incident has prompted investigations into the circumstances and sparked discussions regarding safety protocols and parental supervision at amusement parks.
