Fiestas del Pino celebrations in Gran Canaria

Overview

The 74th edition of the Romería-Ofrenda del Pino, a traditional pilgrimage and event recognized as a National Tourist Interest, took place in Teror and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

Leading up to the event, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria prepared a float featuring the door of the Vegueta Market, the city’s oldest food market, to symbolize its historical identity. During the procession, the city’s float carried 340 kilograms of fruit and vegetables intended for donation to social and charitable institutions.

The festivities included a solemn mass led by Bishop José Mazuelos, military parades, and the ‘Petalada’, a tradition involving the showering of thousands of rose petals upon the procession in honor of Nuestra Señora del Pino.
