On September 12, 2026, Antalya experienced two separate significant fires. The first occurred in the Muratpaşa district, where a blaze in the Yenigöl neighborhood destroyed five warehouses and partially damaged a residence. The fire, which spread through waste materials, insulation, and plastic, caused millions of liras in damage but resulted in no reported fatalities.

Ten firefighting teams from the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department worked for approximately two hours to bring the flames under control. Later that day, a second fire broke out in the Kepez district at a car dealership in the Mehmet Akif Ersoy neighborhood. The flames spread to an apartment building located above the shop, damaging the structure and four nearby vehicles. While the cause remains under investigation, authorities are looking into allegations that the incident may be an act of arson involving a Molotov cocktail.
