Overview

Heavy rainfall and flooding in the Hekimhan district of Malatya caused significant damage to homes, warehouses, barns, and vehicles. The flooding, caused by overflowing local streams such as the Uma, Sarıl, and Kızıldere, also impacted livestock and agricultural production.

Specifically, the timing of the storms coincided with the apricot harvest, leading to substantial damage to trees and crops. Later assessments indicated that approximately 11,000 decares of land were affected.
