Football ultra violence in Spain

Overview

In mid-September 2026, Spanish authorities dealt with separate incidents of football ultra violence in different regions.

In Santander, National Police prevented a planned confrontation between approximately 130 supporters from Real Racing Club and Deportivo Alavés. Officers intercepted two organized groups, including members of Juventudes Verdiblancas and Iraultza, who were reportedly prepared for violence with balaclavas, mouthguards, and sticks.

In Jerez, a violent clash occurred between ultras from CD Badajoz and Xerez CD prior to a Segunda Federación match. The brawl involved approximately 30 individuals using sticks, stones, and terrace chairs, with witnesses reporting several detonations. The incident resulted in twelve arrests, including one minor, after police intercepted participants in a nearby underground parking lot and recovered various weapons.
