Frank Zappa ‘Freak Out!’ 60th anniversary reissue

Overview

Zappa Records and UMe have announced the release of a 60th-anniversary edition of Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention’s 1966 debut album, ‘Freak Out!’.

The reissue will be available in multiple formats, including digital, standard CD, vinyl, and a Super Deluxe package. The Super Deluxe edition is described as a six-disc set containing 105 tracks, including a newly remastered stereo mix, a rediscovered pre-master mix, and the first-ever full-album mono mix.

Additional content includes approximately 90 rare live and studio tracks, such as performances from San Francisco’s Fillmore Auditorium recorded in June 1966, as well as rehearsals, demos, and outtakes. A five-LP box set and a 26-page booklet with archival photos and essays will also accompany the release.
