Free expansion of Freebox Pop internet services

Overview

The French internet provider Free has expanded its Freebox Pop product line to increase market competitiveness. Initially, the company positioned the Freebox Pop and Pop S offers as highly competitive by including Wi-Fi 7 technology and optional Wi-Fi 7 repeaters, contrasting with the premium-tier requirements of competitors like Orange and Bouygues Telecom.

Following the initial rollout, Free introduced the Freebox Pop S as a more affordable alternative. While this version maintains the same internet performance and Wi-Fi 7 capabilities as the standard model, it features several service reductions, including the removal of a physical TV decoder in favor of the OQEE application, the exclusion of structured TV packages, and the removal of various streaming service trials and unlimited landline calling.
