Fryte and Smatrics electric truck charging partnership
Overview
Software provider Fryte and charging operator Smatrics have established a partnership to integrate depot and public charging infrastructure into route planning for electric heavy-duty vehicles in Germany and Austria.
The collaboration aims to simplify charging logistics for freight forwarders by combining Smatrics’ network of approximately 20,000 charging points and its Depot Club—which allows companies to commercialize unused depot capacity—with Fryte’s planning software. Using the Open Charge Point Interface (OCPI) standard to ensure interoperability, the platform enables dispatchers and drivers to plan routes using a mix of public fast-charging stations and private depot locations. The system is expected to allow the reservation of selected charging points starting in 2027.
