Gabon cybersecurity capacity building

Overview

The National Agency for Digital Infrastructure and Frequencies (ANINF) has undertaken initiatives to strengthen Gabon’s cybersecurity capabilities.

In early September 2026, ANINF completed an advanced training program in Libreville in partnership with the MITRE Corporation. This initiative, part of a two-year partnership between the United States and Gabon, utilized the MITRE ATT&CK framework to enhance technical teams' ability to analyze techniques, tactics, and procedures. The program included a ‘Capstone’ style training featuring incident response simulations.

Following this training, ANINF conducted a national cybersecurity exercise on September 11, 2026. This simulation placed various government entities in a crisis scenario involving a simulated cyberattack. The exercise was designed to test the resilience of Gabonese administrations by forcing teams to manage real-time challenges, such as coordinating responses and maintaining operational services, in order to identify and correct flaws in response chains.
