In the Dominican Republic, the situation remains critical. The Fundación Vida Sin Violencia reported 74 femicides so far in 2026, an increase of 24 cases over the previous year, including seven minors. President Yanira Fondeur noted these crimes have left 105 children and adolescents without mothers, often following patterns of domestic control.

A UNICEF report further highlights systemic challenges for Dominican girls; while 71.4% complete secondary school, over three-quarters report experiencing violence during childhood or adolescence, with nearly half citing abuse in school environments. Additionally, adolescent pregnancy remains high at 53 births per 1,000 girls aged 15 to 19.
