Gender equality and violence prevention initiatives

Overview

Efforts to address gender-based issues through training and specialized institutional support have been reported in Paraguay and Spain.

In Paraguay, the Ministry of Public Defense completed a training module focused on identifying gender-based violence in the workplace to improve access to justice for women. Simultaneously, Spain’s Institute of Women launched an online course to support rural women entrepreneurs through leadership and professional skill development.

In Zaragoza, Spain, the local government is preparing to establish the ‘Unidad Égida’, a specialized police unit dedicated to combating gender violence. Officers will undergo training from the National Police’s Family and Women Care Unit to integrate local responses with the state-run VioGén system.
