German-Dutch border enforcement operations

Overview

German and Dutch authorities have conducted enforcement operations at border crossings to target weapons violations and organized crime.

On the A6 motorway near Waidhaus, the German Federal Police (Bundespolizei) seized a telescopic baton, an irritant spray device, and a combat knife from a vehicle traveling from the Czech Republic. An investigation into violations of the Weapons Act was initiated following the seizure.

In a subsequent large-scale operation near the German border on the A77, Dutch and German agencies—including the Dutch Police, the Tax Administration, and the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee—inspected 293 vehicles. This operation, aimed at combating mobile banditry and cross-border criminal networks, resulted in the seizure of over 38,000 euros for the Dutch Tax Administration, the collection of outstanding fines, and the discovery of illegal items such as brass knuckles and a blunt object.
