Overview

Various light art festivals in Germany have announced their upcoming schedules and themes for 2026 and 2027.

Zoo Duisburg will host the third edition of its Zoolichter light festival from November 5 to December 6, 2026. In collaboration with World of Lights, the event will feature over 30 installations along a four-kilometer route, focusing on the ‘Big 5’ animals and a Chinese dragon.

Other scheduled events include the Lichtfestival Schloss Dyck in Jüchen, running from September 4 to September 19, 2026, which showcases international light artists in a historic park. Admission for this event begins daily at 18:00, with the main program running from 20:00 to 24:00. Online tickets are priced at 21 Euro for adults and 15 Euro for discounted entries, while children aged 7 to 16 are 3.50 Euro.

Leipzig has also announced highlights for its Lichtfest 2026 and October 9th commemorations. The program includes a light path through the city center using installations and performances to connect the history of 1989 with the present.
