German Psychologists Academy professional training programs
Overview
The Deutsche Psychologen Akademie has introduced new professional development programs for mental health practitioners in Germany.
In July 2026, the academy announced a series of practice-oriented seminars focused on neurodiversity, scheduled from autumn 2026 through spring 2027. This training series covers topics such as adult ADHD, autism-spectrum disorders, diagnostic methods, and psychopharmacology. Specific sessions include seminars in Berlin on ADHD diagnosis and treatment, as well as online courses covering medication classes and emerging approaches like neurostimulation.
Following this, the academy announced an online curriculum for ‘Psychological Learning Therapy’ running from September 2026 to June 2027. This six-module program is designed to prepare psychologists and psychotherapists for certification as a ‘Psychological Learning Therapist BDP,’ focusing on the diagnosis and intervention of learning disorders in children, adolescents, and adults.
