On 12 July a balcony fire of unknown origin erupted in a multi‑family house on Lüpertzender Straße in Mönchengladbach. Later that evening a stairwell fire erupted in an assisted‑living residence on Hügelstraße in Mönchengladbach‑Westend. Three residents were evacuated and medically checked; a caretaker extinguished the fire with a portable extinguisher and the area was ventilated with a high‑performance fan, resulting in no injuries.
