Ghana international labor export expansion

Overview

Ghana is expanding its Labour Export Programme to address international staffing shortages through bilateral partnerships. The initiative has already seen the deployment of between 61 and over 100 healthcare professionals to Grenada under renewable two-year contracts.

Building on this momentum, Ghana and the United States Virgin Islands have reached an agreement to establish a recruitment framework. A formal Memorandum of Understanding is expected to be signed in November to deploy qualified Ghanaian nurses and teachers to the territory to fill critical vacancies in the healthcare and education sectors.
