Ghana Police Service officer promotions

Overview

The Ghana Police Service has issued several promotions to recognize officers for exceptional service and bravery.

In mid-August, Inspector General of Police Christian Tetteh Yohuno promoted 25 officers for excellence in crime-fighting. These recognitions followed successful operations, including the arrest of robbery suspects on the Kintampo-Buipe Highway, the apprehension of a robbery syndicate in Tarkwa, and the interception of 866 parcels of suspected cocaine at Tema Harbour.

Later in the month, Inspector Hance Atubra of the Tarkwa Divisional Police Headquarters was promoted to Chief Inspector. This promotion followed his actions during a fire at the Aboso Main Lorry Station, where he assisted in evacuating victims and helping to control the blaze. The promotion was approved following public outcry and a procession organized by local youths to demand recognition for his courage.
