Gia Lai provincial development initiatives
Overview
Gia Lai province is pursuing diverse strategies to modernize its economy and promote local culture. Efforts include hosting workshops to leverage cinema, television, and short videos to transform culinary heritage into tourism drivers, specifically through initiatives like the ‘Taste of Gia Lai’ pilot model.
Simultaneously, the province is advancing digital transformation by deploying community technology teams to assist ethnic minority areas with digital banking and online commerce. Agricultural modernization is also underway, highlighted by the transition to VietGAP certified coffee production and plans to develop 31,000 hectares of medicinal plants under forest canopies by 2030. Furthermore, the province is seeking international cooperation, notably with Tochigi Prefecture, Japan, to enhance human resource training and agricultural processing.
