Global community environmental conservation initiatives

Various community-led environmental initiatives have been launched across different regions to promote sustainability and habitat restoration.

In Costa Rica, the Ara Manzanillo project organized a reforestation event at Playa Manzanillo to plant 100 trees, aiming to combat coastal erosion and restore wildlife habitats caused by rising sea levels. This effort involved several local organizations, including the Jaguar Rescue Center and the NGO Trópica Verde.

In Spain, volunteers and students participated in a restoration project along the Tagus River in Toledo. Supported by the ‘La Caixa’ Foundation, the group collected 142 kilograms of trash and planted 35 trees to promote long-term environmental protection and civic awareness.

In Tijuana, Mexico, environmental programs focused on marine protection and urban sustainability. A regional beach cleaning event at Playas de Tijuana targeted microplastics with the help of approximately 150 volunteers. Simultaneously, the Tijuana City Council introduced the ‘Raíces del Cambio’ project, which focuses on reforestation, urban gardening, and organic recycling to improve soil conservation.
