Global intercultural and Mediterranean festivals

Various cultural festivals have been organized across Europe and North Africa to promote intercultural dialogue and social integration.

In Spain, the town of Marchamalo held its fifth ‘Marchamalo entre Culturas’ festival, which featured representatives from 15 countries and focused on Colombian culture. Similarly, in France, the MARPA organization hosted a themed day celebrating the five continents through music, gastronomy, and social activities.

In Morocco, recent and upcoming events continue to emphasize Mediterranean and regional heritage. The 27th International Oud Festival in Tetouan, themed ‘The Mediterranean, Basin of the Three Cultures’, is scheduled for late October. The festival features collaborations between Arab-Andalusian and Flamenco musicians, including performances by Lebanese musician Marcel Khalife and Italian luthist Aurora Manfredi.

Other Moroccan cultural highlights include the conclusion of the 26th National Theater Festival in Tetouan, where the play ‘Grey Zone’ received the grand prize. Additionally, the 14th National Ahwash Arts Festival in Ouarzazate recently concluded, celebrating Amazigh heritage through performances by approximately one thousand artists focused on traditional rhythms, dance, and poetry.
