Overview

Global efforts to control mosquito-borne diseases are expanding as traditional insecticides lose effectiveness. Peru is moving toward long-term prevention through national partnerships to deploy the Wolbachia method, following high infection concentrations in Lima. In Mexico, states are employing diverse tactics: Guanajuato has utilized large-scale nebulization and indoor spraying, while Yucatán is combining active surveillance with the release of Wolbachia-carrying mosquitoes. Other regions, such as Morelos and Coahuila, are focusing on inter-state coordination and increased vigilance to manage epidemiological risks.
