Goiás cultural tourism promotion
Overview
In late July, the Mirante do Alto venue in Alto Paraíso de Goiás hosted a multi‑week winter festival that combined live music, high‑end gastronomy, wine tastings and traditional Brazilian celebrations. The program featured Afro‑House, jazz‑infused MPB, pop‑jazz, folk‑rock and a moonlit finale, positioning the site as a focal point of the region’s winter season.
A week later, the state government expanded its cultural push. Goiás launched the first stage of the Rota Gastronômica in Rio Verde, a four‑day food circuit showcasing local chefs, producers and musical performances to stimulate tourism and restaurant activity. Simultaneously, Goiânia opened the 2nd National Contemporary Art Salon at the UFG Cultural Center, presenting works by thirty visual artists and offering free public access. Both initiatives were framed as part of a broader strategy to strengthen Goiás’s cultural profile, attract visitors and generate economic activity.
