GOL Linhas Aéreas technical incidents in Goiânia

Overview

Two separate technical incidents involving GOL Linhas Aéreas aircraft occurred at Goiânia International Airport in September 2026.

On September 12, a Boeing 737 MAX 8 performing flight G3 1433 made an emergency landing after technical issues following takeoff. Passengers reported hearing a “loud bang on the left side of the plane” and seeing objects fall inside the cabin. The aircraft, carrying approximately 180 people, circled the region for 45 minutes before landing safely.

On September 23, another GOL aircraft experienced an engine fire and sparks during takeoff. The incident resulted in the temporary closure of the airport runway, the cancellation of a flight to Brasília, and the diversion of four other flights to Brasília.
