Gorizia cross-border cultural and culinary festivals

The Gorizia and Nova Gorica regions are preparing for a series of cultural and gastronomic events centered on cross-border identity and cooperation.

Scheduled for September 24 to 27, 2026, the 21st edition of the ‘Gusti di Frontiera’ (also referred to as ‘Okusi ob meji’) culinary festival will feature approximately 300 stands from various countries distributed across 17 thematic villages. The event emphasizes regional connectivity through programs such as the ‘Brezmejni okusi’ (Borderless Flavors) initiative, which includes a digital gallery in the Bombije tunnel, museum visits, and a tourist train or shuttle service to link culinary sites and public squares.

Following the culinary festival, the ‘Frontiere – Dove i mondi si incontrano’ multidisciplinary festival is set for October 2 to 4. Building on the legacy of the 2025 European Capital of Culture, this event will explore themes of identity, history, and geopolitics through artistic performances in theater, music, and cinema, as well as expert lectures at the Teatro Comunale Giuseppe Verdi.
