Gran Hotel Pucón sale and ownership transfer

Overview

The sale of the historic Gran Hotel Pucón in Chile has progressed from negotiations to a finalized transaction. Initially, Pucón Mayor Sebastián Álvarez announced that the sale of the 153-room property, owned by Inmobiliaria La Península, was in an advanced stage and being managed by real-estate firm CBRE. The potential sale was viewed as a significant development for the local tourism sector.

Following these reports, the transaction was confirmed via a filing with the Commission for the Financial Market (CMF). The sale of all shares of Inmobiliaria Península SpA was completed for approximately 372,342 UF, or roughly US$16.3 million. The proceeds are intended to repay international bondholders who are creditors of the casino operator Enjoy. After accounting for operational expenses, the company expects the sale to generate a profit of approximately $5,761 million to offset accumulated losses.
