Greek historical drama series launch

Overview

An eight‑episode period drama based on Ifigeneia Tekou’s novel premiered on the public broadcaster’s streaming service ERTFLIX and was slated for later broadcast on ERT1. Set in 1937, the series follows sisters Paraskeyoula and Elpida as they flee Italian‑occupied Smyrna, travel to Constantinople and then Alexandria, and confront the upheavals of the 20th century, including the rise of the Nazis and the Septembrine events. The screenplay was written by Sofia Sotiriou and directed by Christos Dimas. The cast features Kateryna Lechou, Leonida Kakouri, Nefeli Kouri, Athena Limbatsi, Giannis Koukourakis, Vangelis Stratigakos, Dimitra Matsouka and Smaragda Smirnaiou. The title song is performed by Eleni Tsaligopoulou with music by Giorgos Bousounis.
