Greek police arrests in Rhodes

In late July 2026 Greek law‑enforcement agencies intensified operations on the Dodecanese islands. On 28 July, the Crime Investigation Unit on Kos detained a foreign national for possessing a small amount of cannabis. The following day, Rhodes police arrested a 51‑year‑old foreigner wanted by Interpol on a Russian red notice for large‑scale fraud, and transferred him to the Dodecanese Prosecutor’s Office.

Later that same day, police in Rhodes identified two men, aged 20 and 27, as suspects in a spate of vehicle break‑ins and a house robbery that had occurred throughout June. Concurrently, authorities in Serres arrested seven minors for a series of shop and car break‑ins, recovering cash, goods and a homemade cannabis cigarette. Both incidents underscore a broader surge in petty theft and organized crime investigations across Greece, with police seizing evidence, returning recovered property and forwarding suspects to public prosecutors for further action.
