GT World Challenge Europe 2026 events

Overview

In early August, the SRO Motorsports Group announced a schedule change for the GT World Challenge Europe, moving the season‑ending race at Portimão to 16‑17 October to avoid a clash with the FIA World Endurance Championship finale in Barcelona. The same announcement highlighted the upcoming Sprint Cup race at France’s Magny‑Cours circuit, set to be broadcast live.

A few days later, the Magny‑Cours Sprint Cup took place. Italian driver Matteo Cairoli, returning to the Ferrari 296 GT3 EVO for Emil Frey Racing, qualified 17th and finished 17th, earning no points. German driver Carrie Schreiner posted a personal best qualifying sixth in the Bronze Cup class despite rain, but could not improve her final position. Both drivers cited the circuit’s challenges and looked ahead to the next round at Zandvoort.
