Guanajuato Governor Libia Dennise García leads GOAN
Entities: Libia Dennise García Muñoz Ledo · National Action Party (PAN) · María Eugenia Campos Galván · Association of Governors of National Action Party (GOAN) · Association of Governors of National Action (GOAN)
Overview
In late July 2026 Governor Libia Dennise García Muñoz Ledo of Guanajuato chaired a regional security meeting with neighboring state leaders and military officials, agreeing to expand border‑zone surveillance, upgrade communications, and increase road patrols to curb vehicle theft. The same week she traveled to Chicago, meeting the Mexican consulate and community groups to outline the state’s migrant assistance programmes, including repatriations, visa facilitation and medical support.
In early August 2026 she was elected president of the Association of Governors of the National Action Party (GOAN) in San Miguel de Allende. On 5 August 2026 she formally assumed the role, succeeding Chihuahua Governor María Eugenia Campos Galván, who praised García’s leadership and handed over the mandate. In her inaugural address García pledged to reinforce federalism, deepen coordination among PAN‑governed states, and deliver policies that improve families’ quality of life. She highlighted GOAN’s function as a platform for sharing successful initiatives, building joint projects and defending a strong, decentralized Mexico, noting current members from Aguascalientes, Querétaro and Chihuahua.
