Gwalior school bus driver shooting

Overview

A school bus carrying over 50 children was targeted in a shooting in the Pichhore area of Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. The incident began when the bus driver, Khem Singh Yadav, was involved in a dispute with occupants of a car parked on the road. Initial reports suggested the conflict arose after the driver asked the car occupants to move, with the occupants claiming they had run out of petrol.

Following the shooting, which caused panic among the students, the driver was critically injured and hospitalized. While early reports focused on a road dispute, subsequent police investigations revealed the attack was motivated by an old grudge related to a fatal accident in 2022.

Authorities arrested three suspects—Abhishek Yadav, Arjun (alias Bhima), and Shivam Yadav—within 12 hours of the incident. Police utilized CCTV footage and informant networks to apprehend the individuals, all of whom reportedly have prior criminal records. The vehicle used in the attack was also seized by law enforcement.
