Gyeongsangbuk-do regional tourism promotion
Overview
Gyeongsangbuk-do is implementing various strategies to promote regional tourism and economic vitality.
Initially, four municipalities in the northeastern region—Yeongyang, Bonghwa, Uljin, and Yeongju—began establishing a joint ‘tourism belt’. This initiative focuses on integrated marketing and collaborative projects, such as the ‘Northeast Baekdudaegan Run Trip’, to link the areas’ natural, marine, and historical resources.
Expanding on regional promotion, the province has also partnered with Chinese broadcasters Liaoning TV and Jiangsu TV. Production teams filmed historical sites and cultural heritage in Gyeongju, Mungyeong, and Andong to produce special programs for Chinese audiences. This effort aims to increase the influx of Chinese tourists and strengthen cultural exchanges.
