Hajduk Split transfer market activity

Hajduk Split has been active in the summer transfer market to strengthen its squad. The club pursued several options to address midfield needs following Mihael Žaper’s knee injury, including interest in Albanian international Lindon Selahi. While Selahi’s agent, Adrian Aliaj, confirmed the player could leave, his €500,000-a-year salary remained a significant obstacle. In defense, the club submitted an official offer to Feyenoord for 24-year-old Neraysha Kasanwirjo, though the Dutch club favored a permanent sale over a loan.

To bolster the midfield, the club moved toward signing 22-year-old French midfielder Khalil Fayad from Montpellier, a player described by coach Gonzalo García as a “technically strong and energetic player.”

Following these efforts, Hajduk Split finalized key additions for their UEFA Conference League campaign. The club secured Belgian international Leander Dendoncker as a free agent on a contract lasting until summer 2028. The 31-year-old midfielder, with experience at Aston Villa, Wolverhampton, and Napoli, is expected to strengthen the defensive midfield position. Sporting director Robert Graf stated that Dendoncker will provide “stability, balance, and leadership to the midfield.”

Additionally, Hajduk reached an agreement with Atlético Madrid to bring 24-year-old forward Carlos Martín to the club on a one-year loan. An academy product of Atlético Madrid, Martín will wear the number 77 shirt and offers versatility as both a winger and a central striker. Graf noted that Martín offers “versatile attacking options for both the wing and central striker positions.”

During the final stages of the transfer window, the club officially announced the arrivals of both Dendoncker and Martín to complete these major signings.
