Hall Effect gaming keyboard market developments
Overview
The market for Hall Effect gaming keyboards continues to evolve with new product announcements from major manufacturers.
Keychron has updated its K4 HE and K10 HE models to support N-pole magnetic switches, expanding compatibility with various aftermarket brands such as Wooting, Gateron, and TTC. These revised versions ship with Ultra-Fast Lime Magnetic switches as standard.
Keychron has further expanded its lineup with the launch of a K8 HE All-Wood Special Edition. This tenkeyless (TKL) model features a walnut wood bottom case, brown metal side panels, and an aluminum plate. It is equipped with Gateron Double-Rail Magnetic Nebula switches, which utilize Hall-effect sensing for adjustable actuation and rapid-reset behavior. The keyboard includes three layers of acoustic damping, Bluetooth 5.2, 2.4 GHz wireless, and USB Type-C connectivity. It features double-shot PBT keycaps in an OSA profile and a 4,000 mAh battery, priced at $199.99.
Keychron has also introduced a C0 HE One-Handed 8K Keyboard, a specialized keypad designed for speed, though it has been reported as sold out. The company continues to expand its K, Q, and V series with various wireless and wooden-themed models.
Asus has expanded its lineup with the ROG Falchion Ace 75 HE, a compact 75% layout keyboard designed for high-performance e-sports. The device features HFX V2 Hall Effect switches, an 8000Hz wired polling rate, and dimensions of 320 mm in width, 145 mm in depth, and 35 mm in height. Following these releases, Asus announced the TUF Gaming K4 Magnetic, a 75% compact keyboard scheduled for a September 25 release in Japan. This model features adjustable actuation points ranging from 0.1mm to 3.3mm, hot-swappable switches, and an 8,000Hz polling rate.
