Former Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein has been sentenced to 15 years in prison by a Manhattan judge following a conviction for a 2006 criminal sexual act against former production assistant Miriam Haley. The sentencing follows a 2025 retrial after New York’s highest court overturned a 2020 conviction due to procedural errors regarding extraneous testimony.

Judge Curtis Farber ordered that the sentence include five years of supervised release and require Weinstein to register as a sex offender. The judge also requested that this sentence run consecutively to Weinstein’s existing sentence in California. During the proceedings, Haley testified that the assault had a “devastating effect” on her life.

While Weinstein expressed remorse to “anyone I may have hurt by my actions,” he maintained his innocence regarding the criminal allegations. Prosecutors had sought a 20-year sentence, while the defense requested nine years, citing his declining health.
