HD Hyundai power and energy technology expansion

HD Hyundai's subsidiaries have achieved significant milestones in clean energy and power generation technology. HD Hydrogen successfully completed safety inspections for its solid-oxide fuel cell (SOFC) units and manufacturing facilities in South Korea, establishing a domestic mass-production line for power solutions aimed at data centers and marine applications.

Concurrently, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries has secured major international contracts to support energy infrastructure. The company signed a 956 billion KRW deal with U.S.-based Coban Energy Group to supply 1,000MW of power generation capacity using its 9.6MW HiMSEN engines. These high-efficiency, medium-speed engines are designed for 24-hour continuous operation to meet the stable power requirements of AI and cloud infrastructure data centers.

This agreement follows a previous contract in April with AEG for data center power equipment worth 627.1 billion KRW, bringing the company's total orders for U.S. data center power equipment to over 1.5 trillion KRW this year. The HD Hyundai Group is addressing increasing demand through various subsidiaries, including HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering, HD Hyundai Electric, and HD Hyundai Marine Solution.
