Recent findings emphasize that in-ear headphones increase acoustic pressure directly against the eardrum. While 85 decibels can be tolerated for up to eight hours, exposure at 95 decibels—a common level for many devices—reduces safe usage to approximately 45 to 50 minutes per day. Specialists recommend using noise-canceling technology to facilitate lower volumes and taking frequent breaks to mitigate cumulative damage and the associated risk of dementia.
