Healthcare technology innovation hackathons

Overview

Various organizations have launched technology-driven hackathons to address critical challenges within healthcare systems.

In Chile, EY Chile and Fundación País Digital are hosting the HealthTech Summit País Digital by EY. This initiative utilizes artificial intelligence, generative AI, predictive models, and computer vision to improve clinical management and patient care, specifically targeting oncology and waiting lists. The event includes a requirement for at least one female member per team to promote gender diversity.

In Spain, the Pfizer Foundation, Wayra, and Pfizer have launched the eighth edition of the Innomakers4Health program. Scheduled for October 23 and 24, 2026, in Madrid, the hackathon involves collaboration with the Hospital Universitario de La Princesa. The program aims to reduce administrative burdens in outpatient consultations to optimize clinical time for professionals and improve the patient experience. Participants compete for a 3,000 euro prize and opportunities for project acceleration at InnomakersLAB or residency in the Richi Li program.
