Overview

Heavy rainfall and storm systems have impacted parts of Senegal and Tunisia. In Senegal, the National Agency for Aeronautical and Meteorological Services (ANACIM) reported significant precipitation, with Ouadiour recording 110 mm. Forecasters noted that heavy rains were expected to continue in southern regions such as Casamance and Kolda.

In Tunisia, initial reports from the National Institute of Meteorology (INM) highlighted intense thunderstorms in the western highlands, specifically in the Kasserine and Kef governorates.

By mid-September, the weather patterns caused more severe localized impacts in the Béja governorate. Intense precipitation in Thibar and Teboursouk led to significant road damage and water accumulation on regional roads, including road No. 75 and the Djebba-Thibar axis. Emergency interventions by Civil Protection teams were required to clear fallen trees, pump water from a health facility, and manage damaged road networks in the city of Béja.
