Herbapol-Lublin herbal tea recall in Poland

Overview

The Chief Sanitary Inspectorate (GIS) in Poland issued an urgent warning and recall for a specific batch of ‘Zielnik Polski’ nettle tea produced by Herbapol-Lublin S.A.

Laboratory testing by the National Institute of Public Health PZH confirmed that batch number L 0036, with a minimum durability date of 01.2028, contains concentrations of pyrrolizidine alkaloids that significantly exceed legal limits. These natural toxins are described as genotoxic and carcinogenic, posing risks to the liver and DNA. Authorities have advised consumers to stop using the product and discard the packaging immediately.
