The municipal government of Hermosillo, led by Mayor Antonio Astiazarán, has implemented several urban development projects focused on sustainability and community infrastructure.

In August 2026, the city launched the third stage of the La Campiña housing project under the ‘Sello H 2.0’ scheme. By September 2026, the administration inaugurated the Cárcamo H Cerro Colorado sports complex. Intended to serve over 375,000 residents in the northern and northwestern sectors, the facility includes baseball fields, soccer pitches, basketball courts, a skatepark, and an outdoor theater. The project incorporated environmental measures such as planting 3,475 regional trees and includes security features like drone surveillance and a dedicated Immediate Response Center.
