Hermès global retail expansion

Overview

Hermès has expanded its global retail presence through the opening of significant new locations in the United States and the United Kingdom.

In Brooklyn, the brand transitioned a three-year pop-up into a permanent boutique in Williamsburg. The two-level space, designed by RDAI, incorporates industrial elements like raw brick and metalwork to reflect the neighborhood’s history. According to Diane Mahady, president and CEO of Hermès Americas, the previous pop-up allowed the company to “build relationships with the local community and understand the neighborhood intimately.”

In London, the brand inaugurated its sixth global maison on New Bond Street following an extensive architectural renovation. The project unified six historic buildings into a 2,000-square-meter space featuring restored 19th-century mosaics and a Victorian elevator. The location emphasizes the brand’s heritage by housing over 500 works of art, which artistic director Pierre-Alexis Dumas noted was intended to create an environment that “functions as an extension of the brand’s museum-like heritage.”
