HeroQuest: Digital Edition announcement

Overview

Nomad Games and Balor Games announced ‘HeroQuest: Digital Edition’, an officially licensed video game adaptation of the classic tabletop dungeon-crawling adventure. Unveiled during The MIX Fall Showcase, the game is scheduled for a 2027 release on Steam.

The digital version is being developed in collaboration with Hasbro and Avalon Hill to preserve the asymmetric gameplay of the original 1989 fantasy board game. The title features tactical turn-based combat and supports solo play or online multiplayer for up to five players. In multiplayer, four players can control hero classes—Barbarian, Dwarf, Elf, and Wizard—while a fifth player acts as the sorcerer Zargon to control monsters and traps.

Additional features include a Quest Editor for custom adventures and mod.io integration for community content. Technical specifications for the game have noted a recommendation of 32 GiB of RAM for optimal performance.
