Hidalgo state administrative and security developments

Overview

The government of Hidalgo has undertaken several administrative and social initiatives. Initial developments included the Hidalgo State Congress approving electoral reforms to modify the state’s Electoral Code and reduce municipal council positions for efficiency. Concurrently, the state implemented security measures involving the deployment of over 5,000 police officers and conducted operations resulting in arrests and narcotics seizures.

Following these measures, the state has shifted focus toward the digitalization of public services. Through the Unit of Planning and Prospecting of Hidalgo and the Agency for Digital Transformation and Telecommunications, the government has simplified 111 procedures and eliminated 353 requirements across various public entities. Efforts are underway to launch a Digital Ecosystem of Procedures and Services to integrate government transactions, payments, and information dissemination across the state’s 84 municipalities.
